Z inicjatywy Miejskiej Rady Seniorów w Gnieźnie przygotowano dla seniorów cykl wakacyjnych zajęć. Odbędą się konkursy karaoke, będzie można także wspólnie pośpiewać ulubione piosenki, czy obejrzeć filmy w cyklu "kino dojrzałe". W programie zaplanowano również wizyty w muzeach Gniezna i zwiedzanie zabytków na gnieźnieńskiej starówce. Zajęcia potrwają do końca sierpnia.
W lipcu rusza także sprawdzony już w Poznaniu program „Złota rączka dla seniora”. Jego celem jest bezpłatna pomoc przy drobnych, domowych usterkach. Niesamodzielni seniorzy powyżej 65 roku życia mogą liczyć na wymianę żarówki czy klamki, naprawę kranu czy spłuczki, uszczelnienie drzwi i okien itp. Aby zgłosić usterkę wystarczy zatelefonować pod nr 61 426 04 51 lub przyjść osobiście do pokoju nr 4 w Urzędzie Miejskim w Gnieźnie.
